Project Updates.....

Project List for Spring/Summer 2008 -

• Fix Roof .............................Completed
• Put Up Fence ......................Completed
• Plant Flowering Vines .........Completed (Confederate Jasmine = 8)
• Build Outdoor Shower ........Completed
• Re-Plumb ...........................75% Completed
• Upstairs Bath Reno ..............50% Completed
• Downstairs Bath Reno ........45% of materials purchased - project postponed

After yesterday's post about counting my blessings, I decided to look at the project list objectively.......and in that spirit, here's a look at the things that caused the postponement of the downstairs bathroom......

• Unexpected trip to South Carolina for Daddy Mac's SUCCESSFUL Heart Surgery
• Unexpected repairs on both vehicles (if they had happened earlier or later in the year, they would have caused a real hardship....Blessing!)
• Unexpected opportunity to purchase stainless dishwasher, fridge, and stove for less than $1000
• Unexpected opportunity to purchase a go-cart for a very, very good price!
• Purchases of some wonderful items for the downstairs bathroom that were not budgeted - i.e. 1865 stain glass double windows......
• Hand made 1920's wooden screen door for the front entry door!

There's a few more things that contributed such as the increased cost of gas and groceries and energy bills......but all in all, I think we did pretty good this year! We'll continue to purchase the materials for the downstairs bathroom - its amazing how much lumber is being sold on Craig's List - everyone is selling left-over project materials to make up for their own economic stress and it is enabling us to buy what we need piece by piece......
